SECURITY AT DEFENCE TECHNOLOGY TOWERS CAMP COMPLEX ENHANCED

Visitors who wish to enter the Defence Technology Towers (DTT) Camp Complex will now have to proceed to the new guardhouse at Gate B to exchange for a visitor pass before they enter the compound.

This measure was implemented with effect from 23 Sep.

Visitors who are driving into the camp complex will have to undergo a vehicular check and obtain a pass at the pass exchange booth located at car park C before proceeding.

This means that visitors, especially pre-enlistees reporting to Central Manpower Base (CMPB) for their medical check-up, will have to go through stricter security checks.

Head of Operations and Security at DTT Camp Complex, Mr Yong Choon Fong, said these new measures were introduced to better manage the entry of people and vehicles into the complex.

On the new measures, Ms Agnes Lim, a project manager at the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), said: "It is inconvenient but security is of greater importance."

"It is more secure now. In the past, anyone could come into the camp as control was not so tight," she added.

According to Mr Yong, each day about 3000 people, including permanent staff, enter the DTT Camp Complex.

Staff working in the complex will now have to scan their security passes at the turnstiles located at the new guardhouse.

Another measure, a vehicle check area, is expected to be completed in early Oct.
