KEY BILATERAL EXERCISE A SUCCESS
28 Nov 2005
Ties and friendship were strengthened in a recently concluded exercise conducted by the Singapore Armed Forces and the Indonesian National Army.
The bilateral exercise, codenamed Safkar Indopura, was held from 15 to 28 Nov in Singapore.
About 900 soldiers from the Third Singapore Infantry Brigade and Indonesia's Strategic Reserve Command and Bukit Barisan Regional Military Command participated in the exercise.
One of the exercise's highlights was a war-gaming simulation exercise, which allowed both sides to familiarise themselves with each other's operational and training procedures.
Chief of Army Major-General Desmond Kuek and Chief of Staff of the Indonesian National Army, General Djoko Santoso officiated at the exercise closing ceremony on 25 Nov.
