SINGAPORE, AUSTRALIA HOLD JOINT CBRE EXERCISE

The Singapore Armed Forces' (SAF) Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Explosives (CBRE) Defence Group participated in a bilateral exercise with troops from the Australian Defence Force Incident Response Regiment (ADF-IRR).
Codenamed Ex Lion Bridge, the five-day exercise in Singapore comprised a series of response missions aimed at enhancing inter-operability between the two armed forces, when responding to terrorist attacks involving the use of improvised explosive devices with chemical, biological and radiological components.
About 120 soldiers took part in the exercise, which underscores the close defence ties between Singapore and Australia and provides a good opportunity for the two armed forces to enhance professional interaction and mutual understanding.
The exercise ended on 24 Nov.
