RSAF SENDS FOURTH CHINOOK HELICOPTER FOR HURRICANE RELIEF OPERATIONS

A fourth Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) CH-47 Chinook helicopter from the Peace Prairie detachment in Texas has joined the ongoing Hurricane Katrina relief operations in the southern coastal states of the United States.
With this additional Chinook, there are now 45 RSAF personnel deployed for this mission.
The RSAF helicopters have flown 39 sorties so far, transporting several hundred evacuees and more than 10 tonnes of equipment and humanitarian supplies.
