ALL TARGETS DESTROYED - SINGAPORE, US NAVIES IN MISSILE AND GUN FIRING EXERCISE

A US Coast Guard Cutter fired a gun while an RSN Missile Corvette engaged a single air drone target. BARAK missiles were also fired in a combined anti-missile and anti-aircraft scenario, which saw the RSN Missile Corvette engaging two drone targets simultaneously. All targets were successfully destroyed.
The combined firing exercise is part of the annual Singapore-US Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) exercise being held from 30 May to 13 Jun.
Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen witnessed the successful conduct of the combined missile and gun firing.
The exercise showed the RSN's enhanced operational readiness and the high level of inter-operability between the two navies.
