US PACIFIC FLEET COMMANDER CALLS ON DPM TEO

Admiral (ADM) Patrick M. Walsh, Commander of the United States Pacific Fleet (PACFLT), called on Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean at the Ministry of Defence on 5 Mar.

Here for an introductory visit to from 4 to 6 Mar, ADM Walsh also called on Chief of Navy Rear Admiral Chew Men Leong and visited the Changi Naval Base.

This visit reaffirms the long-standing co-operation between the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and the US PACFLT, which reflects the excellent defence relations between Singapore and the US. It is one in a wide range of activities, such as visits, bilateral and multilateral exercises, and professional exchanges, through which the RSN and the US PACFLT interact extensively. Such interactions serve to heighten the interoperability between the two navies, as well as the professional rapport and mutual understanding between their personnel.
