S'PORE, SWEDISH NAVIES CONDUCT ANNUAL MINE-COUNTERMEASURE EXERCISE

The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and the Royal Swedish Navy (RSwN) are conducting their annual bilateral Mine Countermeasures (MCM) Exchange Programme, code-named Lejon Singa.
Held in Singapore, the exercise consists of a sea exercise incorporating MCM training and diving elements, as well as topical presentations on MCM issues and the neutralising of explosive ordnance.
Ex Lejon Singa was first conducted in 1996 and is now in its eleventh year. The annual exchange underscores the good relations and long-standing cooperation between the RSN and RSwN.
It also provides an opportunity for the RSN and RSwN to share expertise in MCM operations and serves to strengthen professional ties and foster friendship between the personnel of both navies.
The 10-day exercise will end on 13 Dec.
