S'PORE, BRUNEI HOLD NAVAL EXERCISE
04 Apr 2006
The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) are holding a five-day exercise code-named Exercise Pelican from 4 to 8 Apr.
A total of six warships - two from the RSN and four from the RBN - are taking part in this exercise, which the RBN is hosting in Brunei.
The exercise provides an opportunity for the two navies to interact at the professional level. It also allows the personnel of both navies to enhance co-operation and mutual understanding through the development of joint operational doctrines, practices and naval tactics.
Besides Exercise Pelican, ships and personnel of the two navies frequently visit each other.
These interactions further enhance the already close ties between the RSN and the RBN.
