The command of Air Combat Command (ACC) was handed over from Brigadier-General (BG) Lim Yeong Kiat to Colonel (COL) Lim Tuang Liang at a parade held at Changi Air Base (West) on 28 Nov. The change-of-command parade was witnessed by Chief of Air Force Major-General (MG) Ng Chee Meng.

BG Lim, a fighter pilot by training, has held various command and staff appointments since joining the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) in 1984. They include Commanding Officer (CO) of 140 Squadron (SQN), Deputy Commander and Commander of Changi Air Base, and Head of Air Operations Department.

He had assumed the command of ACC in July 2011. Under his leadership, ACC's capabilities have been enhanced with the operationalisation of new capabilities and aircraft such as the G550 Airborne Early Warning and F-15SG, while maintaining its operational readiness to defend Singapore's skies.

COL Lim, also a fighter pilot by training, joined the RSAF in 1991. Prior to the Commander ACC appointment, he held various command and staff appointments, including CO 145 SQN, Commander UAV Command and most recently, Head Air Plans Department. As CO 145 SQN, he had led the squadron to attaining full operational capability for its F-16D Block 52+ fighter aircraft.
