INDONESIAN DEFENCE CHIEF MAKES INTRODUCTORY VISIT

Commander-in-Chief of the Indonesian National Defence Forces (TNI), General (GEN) Djoko Santoso, is in Singapore for an introductory visit from 5 to 7 May.
GEN Santoso called on Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean and Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General (LG) Desmond Kuek on 6 May. He also called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana.
Together with LG Kuek, GEN Santoso co-chaired the 11th Combined Annual Report Meeting between the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and the TNI on 6 May. This meeting oversees SAF-TNI interactions across all three Services.
GEN Santoso's visit underscores the longstanding defence ties between Singapore and Indonesia.
