Unexpected difficulties have led to a postponement of the signing ceremony for the three Implementing Arrangements (IAs) for the armies, navies and air forces of Singapore and Indonesia.

Both countries had earlier inked the Defence Cooperation Agreement, Extradition Treaty and the Implementing Arrangement relating to Military Training Areas on 30 Apr in Bali.

A separate signing ceremony was scheduled to take place in Jakarta on 7 May to conclude the three Service-level IAs.

Singapore's Ministry of Defence remains in contact with its Indonesian counterpart on this issue, and will be looking forward to the signing of the IAs so that defence cooperation between Singapore and Indonesia can be advanced.
