The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), Singapore Police Force (SPF) and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) will come together to present a Total Defence Showcase at the Carnival@Marina this Aug.
Visitors can enjoy dynamic shows, static displays and thematic rides on land and out at sea.
Carnival@Marina, a nine-day festival to celebrate National Day, aims to draw about 750,000 visitors. It will be held from 6 to 14 Aug at Marina South.
A focal point of the Total Defence Showcase will be the Tri-service (Army, Navy and Air Force) military show featuring the SAF's joint war-fighting capabilities, as well as the capabilities of the Home Team and other Total Defence agencies.
The third-generation SAF will be demonstrated through action-packed displays of military weaponry and platforms in a battlefield scenario. Get set to be thrilled by F-5s, Bionix, SM-1 tanks, Light Strike Vehicles, Super Pumas in action during the displays.
Visitors can feast their eyes on aerial stunts by the Republic of Singapore Air Force's F-16s, Naval Diving Unit's sea displays, the SAF Commando Red Lions' free-fall displays, and the National Police Cadet Corps' toy soldiers performances.
The public will also get hands-on experience at the static displays, which focus on the five main themes of Total Defence: military, civil, social, economic and psychological defence.
They will have an opportunity to gain greater insight into various equipment, including the SAF's weapon systems, SPF's law enforcement, and the SCDF's rescue equipment and vehicles.
Fancy going for exhilarating adventure rides? The Army's Light Strike Vehicles will ferry visitors across a circuit.
In addition, visitors can choose to go on fun discovery rides, where vehicles like the SCDF's Rhino, and the SAF's Bronco, Ultra and Bionix will move along designated routes.
Of course, visitors will not want to miss out on the experience of riding in naval transport and ships at the 'Naval Country'.
Beside the Total Defence showcase, Carnival@Marina will also feature a Celebrate Singapore Festival, where visitors will get to enjoy six thematic villages set within the Marina City Park.
There will also be a Chill-Out By-The-Bay, Singapore Fireworks Festival, Concerts by the Bay, Auto Trail, and a National Day Countdown Party.
