TRADOC GETS NEW COMMANDER

Brigadier-General (BG) Lim Hock Yu took over as Commander of the Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) from BG Tan Chuan-Jin in a ceremony held at Pasir Laba Camp on 25 Mar.
In his farewell speech, BG Tan thanked his fellow soldiers and the staff members whom he had worked with during the course of his 24-year career with the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).
He also spoke of the good work of his predecessors and expressed full confidence in BG Lim's abilities in leading the Army training community.
BG Tan has made invaluable contributions to the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) through his numerous command and principal staff appointments, which include Commanding Officer 3rd Battalion, Singapore Guards, Assistant Chief of the General Staff (Plans) and Commander 3rd Singapore Division. He also chaired the National Day Parade 2009 Executive Committee.
As Commander, 7th Singapore Infantry Brigade in 2004, BG Tan led the SAF's humanitarian assistance and disaster relief efforts following the Boxing Day tsunami in Aceh, Indonesia.
His successor, BG Lim, has held various command appointments in the SAF, which include Commanding Officer 6th Battalion, Singapore Infantry Regiment, Commander 10th Singapore Infantry Brigade, Deputy Assistant Chief of the General Staff (Ops) and Assistant Chief of the General Staff (Intelligence). In addition to his appointment as Commander TRADOC, he is Commander 9th Division and Chief Infantry Officer.
The change of command ceremony was witnessed by then-Chief of Army Major-General Chan Chun Sing. Also present were senior SAF officers and officials from the Ministry of Defence.
