THAI PM VISITS S'PORE

Thailand's Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Samak Sundaravej is in Singapore for an official visit from 18 to 20 Mar.
While in Singapore, Mr Samak called on President S R Nathan and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and met Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew.
Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean called on Mr Samak on 19 Mar.
Singapore and Thailand have long-standing ties and a close defence relationship.
The Singapore Armed Forces and the Royal Thai Armed Forces interact regularly through exercises and other professional exchanges. Such interactions have strengthened the friendship and mutual understanding between the officers of the two armed forces.
