SAF PROMOTES 152 WARRANT OFFICERS
23 Jun 2005
In recognition of their contributions in providing inspiration and competence, which are necessary in the current transformation efforts undertaken throughout the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), 152 Warrant Officers will be promoted to the next higher rank on 1 Jul.
This year, four Master Warrant Officers (MWO) will be promoted to the rank of Senior Warrant Officers (SWO), the highest rank within the Corps of Warrant Officers.
Forty-five First Warrant Officers (1WO) will be promoted to the rank of MWO, and 103 Second Warrant Officers (2WO) will be promoted to the rank of 1WO.
"I think it's added responsibility, and an acknowledgement of my contributions," said 1WO Muthiah Ampigapathi of 140 Squadron.
"It's a challenge for me to do even better than I have done before. I'm expected to do more, and I'm prepared for it," he added.
"When you're young, you don't see the bigger picture of the importance of national defence. This comes with age and maturity, and you will realise that we have a very good solid SAF, and I am proud to be part of it," said 1WO Muthiah.
Warrant Officers serve as the backbone of the organisation. They uphold the efficiency and operational readiness of the SAF by playing key roles in leading, training, motivating and inculcating core values in junior specialists.
