The air forces of Singapore and India are conducting an 18-day exercise from 3 to 20 January.

Eight Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) F-16 fighter jets flew into the Kalaikunda Air Force Station in eastern India for the exercise.

During the four-and-a-half-hour flight, an RSAF KC-135 tanker conducted mid-air refuelling for the F-16s.

Code-named SINDEX, this exercise allows the RSAF personnel to train with their Indian Air Force counterparts in realistic and challenging conditions.

SINDEX reflects the growing defence co-operation between Singapore and India. Defence officials from both countries visit each other regularly and have other professional interactions.
