The Singapore Army and the Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF) conducted a bilateral live-firing exercise, code-named Exercise Dragonball, from 24 to 31 Jan.

The eighteenth in its series, the exercise included discussions on professional topics and familiarisation training with the Singapore Assault Rifle 21 (SAR 21).

The highlight of Ex Dragonball was the battalion live-firing segment involving a total of 530 men from the 42nd Battalion, Singapore Armour Regiment (42 SAR) and the RBLF.

This annual exercise is one of many professional interactions between the Singapore Army and the RBLF.

Such close bilateral co-operation reflects the strong and long-standing defence relationship between Singapore and Brunei, enhancing both armies' inter-operability and mutual understanding.

At the closing ceremony held at SAFTI Live-Firing Area on 27 Jan, Commander 4th Singapore Armour Brigade, Colonel (COL) Tan Cheng Peng, emphasised the focus on teamwork and inter-operability, commending soldiers from both armies for their hard work.

Major Rani Bin Bujang Pikb (left), a senior officer from the RBLF, also stressed on the need for continued co-operation.

He said: "We hope the exercise will be continued to give more exposure between the two armed forces."

"The most important is the interaction between the soldiers because they are the future for the armed forces."
