RSN TAKES PART IN INTERNATIONAL NAVAL REVIEW
23 Apr 2009
A Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) Formidable-class frigate, the RSS Formidable, joined ships from more than 13 other navies in the International Naval Review at Qingdao, China, on 23 Apr.
The People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy also invited Chief of Navy Rear-Admiral Chew Men Leong to attend the Multinational Naval Symposium, which was also held in Qingdao, on 21 Apr.
During the naval review, personnel from the ships of the various navies interacted with each other and conducted professional exchanges in order to foster greater mutual understanding and cooperation.
The RSN's participation in the events, which were part of the PLA Navy's 60th anniversary, is indicative of the warm and friendly defence ties between Singapore and China.
