NZ ARMY CHIEF VISITS S'PORE

The New Zealand Army's Chief of Army, Major-General (MG) Louis Joseph Gardiner, is in Singapore on an introductory visit from 7 to 11 Aug.
MG Gardiner called on Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean at Parliament House on 8 Aug.
At the Ministry of Defence, MG Gardiner met Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General (LG) Ng Yat Chung and Chief of Army MG Desmond Kuek.
During his visit, MG Gardiner will see the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Centre for Military Experimentation, Headquarters Singapore Artillery and Headquarters 3rd Division.
MG Gardiner's visit reflects the warm, long-standing defence ties between Singapore and New Zealand.
The armed forces of both countries interact regularly through exercises, such as Exercise Lion Zeal, and other professional activities.
