MR TEO MEETS JAPANESE DEFENCE MINISTER

Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean met his Japanese counterpart Shigeru Ishiba on 29 Nov.
During their meeting, the ministers reaffirmed the strong defence ties shared by Singapore and Japan, a relationship underpinned by common perspectives on regional security and growing interactions. Both ministers also discussed regional security architecture and maritime security.
As part of Mr Teo's four day visit to Japan, he met with senior Japanese Lower and Upper House members and prominent academics. He also visited the Japan Air Self-Defense Force at Hyakuri Air Base and IHI Marine United s shipyard facility in Yokohama.
Singapore and Japan continue to share warm and friendly relations, with defence interactions growing in recent years.
