MR TEO ATTENDS FIRST ASEAN DEFENCE MINISTERS MEET IN KL

Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean will join his ASEAN counterparts for the inaugural ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 9 May.

The ministers are expected to discuss a wide range of security issues, including the threat of terrorism and regional maritime security. They will call on the Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Abdullah Badawi on 9 May.

Mr Teo will be accompanied by Permanent Secretary (Defence) Chiang Chie Foo and other senior officials from the Ministry of Defence.
