MINISTERS ATTENDING 5TH SHANGRI-LA DIALOGUE CALL ON DEFENCE MINISTER

Several ministers who were in Singapore for the annual Shangri-La Dialogue called on Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean.

The ministers who called on Mr Teo included Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Dato' Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Hji Razak; Indonesian Minister for Defence Dr Juwono Sudarsono; Indian Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee, South Korean Defence Minister Yoon Kwang Ung; Director for Strategic Affairs, Ministry of Defence France, Jean de Ponton d'Amecourt; Minister for Defence Mongolia Mishig Sonompil; United States Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld; New Zealand Minister for Defence Phil Goff; Philippine Secretary of National Defense Avelino Cruz, Jr.; Australian Minister for Defence Brendan Nelson; Bruneian Deputy Minister for Defence Pehin Yasmin bin Umar; and UK Minister of State for the Armed Forces Adam Ingram.

During the three-day dialogue from 2 to 4 Jun, Mr Teo also met military officials from the United States, Pakistan and Indonesia.

Organised by the International Institute for Strategic Studies, the Shangri-La Dialogue is the only forum that brings together defence ministers from the Asia Pacific region for discussions on regional security issues and defence co-operation.


Australian Minister for Defence, Mr Brendan Nelson, called on Minister Teo Chee Hean.
United States Secretary of Defence, Mr Donald Rumsfeld, called on Minister Teo Chee Hean.
Indonesian Minister for Defence, Dr Juwono Sudarsono, called on Minister Teo Chee Hean.
Indian Defence Minister, Mr Pranab Mukherjee, called on Minister Teo Chee Hean.
Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Dato' Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Hji Razak, called on Minister Teo Chee Hean.
