Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean called on His Royal Highness Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud of Saudi Arabia on 12 Apr.

Crown Prince Sultan is in Singapore for a six-day official visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

Both Crown Prince Sultan and Mr Teo noted the growing relationship between Saudi Arabia and Singapore, and agreed that the bilateral relationship would grow stronger with this current visit by His Royal Highness.

The two men also reaffirmed the need for closer engagement between Asia and the Middle East.

Their meeting underscores the friendly defence ties between Saudi Arabia and Singapore.

Royal Saudi Armed Forces officers have attended the Command and Staff Course conducted by the Singapore Armed Forces.

Officers from the two armed forces also call on each other regularly at defence exhibitions and other professional events.

Such interactions have helped to foster mutual understanding and enhance the relationship between the two armed forces.
