GERMAN DEFENCE SECRETARY CALLS ON DPM TEO
08 Sep 2010
The German State Secretary for Defence R diger Wolf called on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean on 7 Sep at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) as part of his visit from 6 to 8 Sep. He was in town for the 5th Singapore-Germany Defence Policy Dialogue, which was conducted by MINDEF and the German Federal Ministry of Defence.
The Defence Policy Dialogue was first introduced in 2004, and has since matured into a regular platform for both countries to discuss defence cooperation and strategic developments of mutual interest. This year, Permanent Secretary for Defence Chiang Chie Foo and Mr Wolf co-chaired the event.
Mr Wolf's visit underscores the good defence relationship between both countries.
Singapore and Germany concluded a bilateral Defence Cooperation Agreement in September 2005, and has continued to interact regularly through high-level defence visits, military courses and professional exchanges, as well as defence technology cooperation.
