DPM TEO REAFFIRMS BILATERAL TIES WITH VISIT TO LAOS

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean called on Lao Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh on 10 Dec, where they reaffirmed the warm bilateral and defence relations between the two nations and discussed regional security developments.
Mr Teo will also call on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Lieutenant-General Douangchay Phichit, and Standing Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavad. He is also scheduled to visit the Kaysone Phomvihane National Defence Academy where he will meet senior officials from the Lao Ministry of National Defence.
Mr Teo is in Laos to attend the 25th Southeast Asian Games from 9 to 13 Dec, in his capacity as President of the Singapore National Olympic Council.
