DEFENCE MINISTER VISITS RUSSIA

This is the first official visit by a Singapore defence minister to Russia.
Mr Teo's visit is at the invitation of Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Sergey Ivanov.
During his visit, Mr Teo will meet with several Russian leaders, including Mr Ivanov and Aide to the Russian President, Viktor Ivanov.
He will also visit defence establishments like military units, a naval academy and defence technology companies in Moscow and St Petersburg.
Mr Teo's visit underscores the friendly relations between Singapore and Russia, and gives both sides a better understanding of each other s perspectives on defence and security issues.
Singapore and Russia will also explore areas of defence interactions and cooperation for mutual benefit.
