CROWN PRINCE OF BRUNEI VISITS SINGAPORE

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince of Brunei Darussalam, is in Singapore on an official visit from 8 to 12 March at the invitation of Minister for Defence, Mr Teo Chee Hean.

His Royal Highness is accompanied by his wife, Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah, and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Muda Abdul Qawi.

While in Singapore, the Crown Prince will call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, and Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew.

The Royal Couple will call on President S R Nathan, who will host a dinner for them at the Istana.

His Royal Highness will also be visiting Changi Navel Base and Headquarters Commando to observe some of the Singapore Armed Forces' (SAF) hardware and capabilities.

Singapore and Brunei enjoy a long history of close friendship and co-operation.

The warm and friendly ties between the SAF and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) form an important pillar of this relationship.

The two armed forces exercise together regularly and have numerous bilateral interaction programmes, which have deepened mutual understanding and enhanced the professionalism of both armed forces.
