CDF VISITS CHINA

Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General (LG) Ng Yat Chung is in China for an introductory visit from 3 to 7 Jul.
In Beijing, LG Ng met General (GEN) Liang Guanglie, China's Chief of General Staff and member of the Central Military Commission (CMC).
LG Ng also called on GEN Cao Gangchuan, Defence Minister and Vice-Chairman of the CMC.
Besides visiting the National Defence University and other military units, LG Ng will also make a trip to Shenyang and Qingdao.
LG Ng's visit is the latest in a series of regular exchanges between Singapore and China. Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean went to China in November 2005, while GEN Cao came to Singapore in April this year.
