Two of the Republic of Singapore Air Force's (RSAF) retired A4-SU Super Skyhawks have found a new permanent home in Paris.

The RSAF donated the planes to the French Aeronautics Museum (Musee de l'Air et de l'Espace) for static display.

Since 1998, the RSAF has been using the Super Skyhawks for advanced jet training at the Cazaux Air Base in France. In March last year, the planes were retired from service.

This donation is a gesture of thanks for the warm hospitality extended by the French Air Force to the RSAF. It will also allow the RSAF to share part of its heritage with its French hosts.

Representatives from the RSAF and the museum signed a Certificate of Transfer and Acceptance at Cazaux Air Base on 12 Jan.

The retired A4-SUs will join more than 150 aircraft in the aviation museum, one of the oldest of its kind in the world.
