The annual ACTIVE (All Companies Together In Various Exercises) saw some 700 personnel from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) get together at Gombak Recreation Centre and engaging in healthy exercises, including a modified Boxercise workout.

Chief of Air Force, Major-General (MG) Lim Kim Choon, was the guest of honour of the event.

In a short opening speech, MG Lim exhorted the service personnel to embrace a healthy lifestyle.

"As long as we all aim to get to the same desired end point of good health, we are part of the healthy lifestyle pursuit," said MG Lim, who is also Chairman of the Ministry of Defence s Healthy Lifestyle Steering Committee.

The workout was well received by the participants, who cheered throughout the hour-long exercise.

One participant who had fun was Third Sergeant (3SG) Kelvin Lim, who enjoyed the kick-boxing segment in particular.

"It's very interesting; people shouting together and having a lot of fun," said 3SG Lim.
