A "VERY SPECTACULAR SHOW!"
11 Jul 2005
Some 25,000 primary five students from 80 schools had the opportunity to preview NDP 05 on 9 Jul, and these young reviewers gave the parade a big 'thumbs-up'.
From vibrant dances and beautiful floats to powerful military vehicles and stunning aerial display from the Republic of Singapore Air Force, NDP 05 will be filled with impressive sights and sounds.
found the parade very spectacular!
Little Siti, who was at the parade with her friend Wijiati, said she enjoyed the dazzling fireworks display and liked the part when tanks rolled past .
About 200 Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and Home Team vehicles rumbled past City Hall, as part of a 2-km long mobile column.
When asked which part of the parade he liked best, a cheeky could not decide and replied: All the parts! It was all very nice!
His schoolmate, Kit Yeng, picked the dazzling fireworks display as her favourite: It was very colourful and loud! Very fun!
Audience participation was also fully encouraged, particularly when they were taught how to do 'Dance Number 40', the new easy-to-do dance specially choreographed to celebrate Singapore's 40th birthday.
At the end of the parade, looking at the excited faces of the children all around her, Ms Sharmaine Tan, a teacher with Hougang Primary School, had no doubt that they all enjoyed the parade.
She said: The parade made us all feel very proud to be Singaporeans.
