SWEDISH NAVY INSPECTOR CONFERRED MEDAL

In recognition of his significant role in enhancing the strong ties and good relations between the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and the Royal Swedish Navy (RSwN), Rear-Admiral (RADM) Anders Grenstad, Navy Inspector of the Royal Swedish Navy, was awarded the prestigious Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Tentera) or Meritorious Service Medal (Military), on 17 May.
RADM Grenstad has actively facilitated the sharing of expertise and experience in submarine training and operations between both navies, strengthening the submarine capabilities of the RSN.
Both navies have regular interactions through professional exchanges, cross-attendance of courses, visits and attachments for exercises.
These interactions have enhanced the professionalism of both navies and deepened the rapport and mutual understanding between their officers and men.
RADM Grenstad was conferred the medal by Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean at the Ministry of Defence.
Before the conferment ceremony, he called on Mr Teo.
He also called on Chief of Defence Force Major-General Desmond Kuek and Chief of Navy RADM Ronnie Tay.
