LOVELY WITH A CHANCE OF GOOFY

STORY // Benita Teo
PHOTO // Mark Teo

In this photo, she looks every bit the classic beauty, almost like a 1940s Chinese cinema goddess. In reality, Ms Goh is down-to-earth with a goofy sense of humour.

"I do yoga in my free time. I'm not very active and the most I do is walk, although I will run if I have to - for instance, after the bus," she said with a laugh when asked about her hobbies.

This affable nature comes in handy at work. As a Community Engagement Executive in Nexus, Ms Goh provides secretarial support and plans visits for members of the Advisory Council on Community Relations in Defence, and the Government Parliamentary Committee for Defence and Foreign Affairs, to learn more about the Singapore Armed Forces.

"I enjoy meeting new people and talking to them. That's one of the reasons I chose to work in Nexus," she explained. "Every time I meet new people, it widens my perspective. That also makes the work more fun."

And don't be fooled by her lithe figure, this lass loves her food. While the food hunt has taken her overseas to places such as Korea, there's only one kind of cuisine that keeps her coming back for more.

"No matter where I go, I always miss Singaporean food. Europe, America or even Hong Kong may have their own tea or coffee, but somehow I will always crave our local teh and kopi."
