On 9 Aug, what better way to soak in the celebratory atmosphere than to be at the National Stadium for the National Day Parade?

With throngs of people decked in red and white grooving to the party beat as scintillating acts were rolled out one after another, it was truly an electrifying experience to cherish.

What made it even more memorable was that it was the last NDP to be held at the National Stadium before it makes way for the Singapore Sports Hub.

Relive the defining moments of NDP 2006 as we bring you the highlights of the day.

The combined schools choir, which sang a medley of community songs, was made up of over 800 students from 16 secondary schools.
As the sun sets upon the last NDP at the National Stadium, get ready to usher in the next one that will be held on a floating platform on Marina Bay.

About 1,200 members of the Singapore SOKA association performed in their light artistry display combined with uniformed movements.
The Singapore Armed Forces' Red Lions got the crowd's roar of approval with their pin-point landing.
