Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force Air Chief Marshal (ACM) Chalit Pukbhasuk was conferred Singapore s prestigious military award, the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Tentera) by Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean at an investiture ceremony on 21 Dec.

Also known as the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) (Military), the medal was presented to ACM Chalit in recognition of his contributions to promoting close professional ties between the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) and the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF).

The two air forces regularly engage in a wide spectrum of interactions which include bilateral and multilateral exercises.

Through these exchanges, servicemen from the two air forces have enhanced their professionalism and strengthened their friendship and camaraderie.

Previous RTAF Chiefs who have received the MSM (Military) in recent years include ACM Kongsak Vantana and ACM Sanan Tourtip.

Before the investiture ceremony at the Ministry of Defence, ACM Chalit called on Mr Teo and Chief of Air Force Major-General Ng Chee Khern.

On 19 Dec, ACM Chalit co-officiated at the opening ceremony of Exercise Cope Tiger, an annual trilateral exercise conducted by the RTAF, RSAF and the United States Air Force.
