Ever wondered what it is like to be a soldier?

Head over to the open field outside Serangoon Nex, where the Army is holding an exhibition from 3 to 5 Jun, to experience what it takes to don the green uniform.

Visitors can get up close and personal with army vehicles, such as the Light Strike Vehicle and Peacekeeper Protected Response Vehicle.

They can experience a combat environment and army training at the Airsoft rifle range and Anti-tank guided missile training simulator.

Combat rations are handed out to those who want to get a taste of what soldiers eat out in the field.

When asked why he decided to take his family to the exhibition, Mr Tah Wee Han said: "I think it's always good for the kids to get a first-hand experience of the activities that go on in the Army, as it gives the boys a sneak peak of army life."

It was for the same reason that Mr Jaya took his son to the exhibition. He said: "I thought it was important to let him know the culture of the Army and what the Army has done for Singapore."

Another visitor, Mr Subhas Gopal, shared his thoughts about the Army. He said: "The Army is a very important part of our defence, and from the exhibition, (I see that) we have acquired a lot of new equipment and I feel that we are ready to defend the country."

Also at the exhibition was Ms Vinita, who aspired to sign on with the Army. After visiting the different booths, she said: "I feel that it is a strong and efficient force Now, I am convinced that I want to join the Army!"
