Mr Lawrence Hsieh and his mates from Team Ascender spoke of fond memories when they took part in National Runway Cycling few years ago.

"We had a lot of fun," said the 30-year-old, who is an avid cycling enthusiast. "It's getting popular and a lot of people are taking part in it nowadays."

For those of you who want to experience the thrill of cycling on an aircraft runway like Mr Hsieh and his cycling buddies, don't miss out on National Runway Cycling 2007 on 3 Jun.

Held in Paya Lebar Air Base, participants can look forward to having a leisurely ride or challenge themselves to the new Endurance Challenge, which has been extended to 45 km from a previous 30km.

The challenge is not restricted to cycling because participants can also choose to inline skate for either 15km or 30km.

Jointly organised by Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), SAFRA and the Singapore Sports Council, there will be performances and activities for all ages at the event, which is in its 12th year.

Deputy Prime Minister, Co-ordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Law S. Jayakumar will be the guest of honour for the annual event, which is held in conjunction with National Family Week 2007 and supported by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS).
