PERMANENT SECRETARY FOR DEFENCE VISITS SOUTH AFRICA

Permanent Secretary for Defence Chiang Chie Foo visited South Africa from 24 to 25 Aug.
During his visit, Mr Chiang met with the acting Director-General of the Office of the Presidency Trevor Fowler and senior officials of the South African National Defence Force. He also visited the Singapore Armed Forces' two-week long Unmanned Aerial Vehicle training detachment in South Africa and hosted a lunch for the Singaporean community in Pretoria.
Mr Chiang's visit underscores the warm and friendly defence relations between Singapore and South Africa. The SAF and SANDF cooperate in a range of bilateral activities including exchanges and cross attendance of courses.
