NEW ZEALAND GOVERNOR-GENERAL VISITS SAF CAMPS

As part of her three-day visit to Singapore, Governor-General of New Zealand, Dame Silvia Cartwright, visited the Headquarters of Singapore Artillery (HQ SA) and Changi Naval Base (CNB) on 30 Jun.
Accompanied by Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Education, Dr Ng Eng Hen, and Chief of Defence Force, Lieutenant-General (LG) Ng Yat Chung, Dame Silvia's visit to the two Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) camps underscores the warm defence relations between Singapore and New Zealand.
Chief of Army, Major-General (MG) Desmond Kuek, hosted her visit at HQ SA, where Dame Silvia observed an FH 2000 mobile display and was briefed on the SAF artillery training in New Zealand.
While at CNB, Dame Silvia was given a tour of the Landing Ship Tank, RSS Endeavour, and briefed on the structure and roles of the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN).
The SAF has regular and extensive interactions with the New Zealand Defence Force, and is appreciative of the training facilities offered by New Zealand.
