DEFENCE MINISTER VISITS VIETNAM

Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean is visiting Vietnam from 24 to 26 Sep at the invitation of his counterpart General Phung Quang Thanh.
Besides discussing matters of bilateral defence relations with General Thanh, Mr Teo also called on President Nguyen Minh Triet and met other senior leaders.
While in Vietnam, Mr Teo visited the Vietnam People's Army School of Special Forces Training. He also laid a wreath at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
He will be visiting the Institute of Defence International Relations as well.
Mr Teo s visit highlights the warm and friendly bilateral relations between Singapore and Vietnam, and underscores the growing defence relationship between the two countries.
