AUSTRALIAN NAVY CHIEF IN S'PORE FOR IMDEX ASIA 2009

The Chief of Navy of the Royal Australian Navy, Vice-Admiral (VADM) Russell Crane, was in Singapore from 13 to 15 May to attend the International Maritime Defence Exhibition (IMDEX) Asia 2009.
As part of his introductory visit to Singapore, he called on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean at the Ministry of Defence on 15 May.
VADM Crane also called on Chief of Navy, Rear-Admiral Chew Men Leong, and visited Changi Naval Base. His visit underscores the excellent defence relationship between Singapore and Australia.
The navies of both nations interact through various mediums such as bilateral and multilateral exercises, ship visits, professional exchanges and training courses.
